The American Studies Center of the University of Warsaw offers a full-time, two-year Master's program in American Studies, with a focus on cultural studies. The program is interdisciplinary and covers various fields of knowledge about the United States and the Western Hemisphere, including culture, literature, arts, film, media, history, economy, politics, history of ideas, society, and law. The program is taught in English and includes courses in Spanish. The curriculum emphasizes research skills, and students are offered opportunities to travel abroad for research purposes. Graduates are awarded MA degrees in American studies and have skills and competences to continue their studies in doctoral or PhD programs in humanities or social science with specialization in American or Western Hemisphere studies. The admission process includes a two-stage process, which includes a Research Interests Statement and an oral exam. The program is located at Dobra 55, in Powiśle, and the building is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The ASC Library collection is highly valued by students, researchers, and journalists in American studies.
