The Geomatics program at Wroclaw University of Technology is designed for students who want to deepen their knowledge and skills in the field of geodesy and cartography, as well as other related fields. This program focuses on the practical application of geodetic and cartographic methods, including surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and data analysis. Students learn to create and analyze spatial data, develop maps, and use computer software for geodetic and cartographic applications. They also gain knowledge about the latest technologies used in the field, such as satellite positioning systems, laser scanning, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology is responsible for the Geomatics program. This faculty has a long history of educating geodesists, mining engineers, and geologists, and has a strong reputation both nationally and internationally. The faculty has well-equipped laboratories, including a laboratory of geodesy and satellite positioning systems, a photogrammetric laboratory, and a GIS laboratory. The faculty also has close ties with industry, providing students with opportunities to work on real-world projects and gain hands-on experience in their field of study. Graduates of the Geomatics program are well-prepared for careers in a variety of industries, including land surveying, mapping, remote sensing, and GIS.
