Graphic Design and Multimedia Arts is PJATK an interdisciplinary program that provides comprehensive knowledge, awareness, and competency in communication creation.
The direction of graphic design and multimedia art was created based on a decade of work in the international design environment and experience in moving educational and creative activities into the Internet sphere, with an intensive development of blended learning.
Anticipating the growth of the design market for the internet and intelligent environments, the program prepares graduates to work in an international community communicating with digital tools in a complex reality, considering both our real and virtual environments.
The education is based on three components: humanistic-theoretical, which helps students understand customs and communication principles in a multicultural world; artistic-design, which teaches students how to solve design problems in a complex reality; and IT, which equips students with knowledge and skills in using existing IT tools and techniques.
Classes and workshops are conducted by artists, designers, and engineers representing different nationalities, cultures, and academia. The design problems considered go beyond the local area, which gives students the opportunity to see the role of the contemporary designer in the context of the global needs of civilization. Selected projects, created in cooperation with representatives of companies and institutions, are realized and implemented, providing students with opportunities to test their skills during their studies.
The field of study in graphic design and multimedia art is all about practicing and developing design/art skills by using modern applications to create visual works in 2D and 3D environments. Students in the major work on a daily basis on projects using Unity, Blender, Maya, TouchDesigner, and Adobe CC software. Realistic cooperation between friendly institutes and cultural units gives students the opportunity to create attractive and unique visual, light, music, and interactive creations.
