The B.Sc. Aerospace Engineering program, offered by the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering, is designed to prepare students to become experts in the modern aerospace industry. The program is aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and other fundamental scientific and engineering principles that are essential to the aerospace industry.
The program consists of a 3.5-year curriculum that is divided into three main stages. During the first year, students are exposed to basic mathematics, physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, and computer science. In the second year, students learn more specialized subjects such as aeronautics, astronautics, control engineering, and foreign language. The third year is focused on the study of more specialized topics, including aeronautical systems, mechanics of flight, materials for aerospace technologies, propulsion systems, and rotorcrafts. In the last half of the program, students are required to work on their engineering diploma thesis, which allows them to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
Upon graduation, students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in a wide range of fields, including the aerospace industry, airlines, and research institutions. Graduates of the program have a deep understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics, and combustion processes, as well as the materials and manufacturing technologies used in the aerospace industry. They also possess strong skills in electronics, information sciences, and computer-aided design (CAD). With this diverse range of skills, graduates are well-positioned to respond to the rapidly changing needs of the modern aerospace industry.
The program includes a variety of modules that cover a wide range of topics, such as electric circuits, mechanics of structures, thermodynamics, basics of automation and control, machine design, introduction to aerospace, materials in aerospace technology, integrated CAD/CAM/CAE system, aircraft engine design, aircraft design, aeronautical systems, risk and reliability in aviation, and rotorcraft aeromechanics. These modules provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of aerospace engineering, ensuring that they are well-equipped to tackle the complex challenges of the industry.
