The Faculty of Horticulture offers a comprehensive and specialized Master’s Degree program in General Horticulture. The program aims to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of horticulture, with a particular emphasis on plant production, breeding, pathology, and ecology. The program focuses on developing practical skills that can be applied to real-world situations, with a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience in modern greenhouses and analytical laboratories.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a diploma from a first-level study program in plants, such as Horticulture, Forestry, or Agriculture, or a related field with convergent learning outcomes. Additionally, applicants must have confirmed knowledge of English, as the program is taught in English. The program is designed to be completed in three semesters, starting in March.
The program covers a range of mandatory subjects, including Herbal raw materials, Plant functioning under environmental stresses, Advanced information technologies, Intellectual property, Molecular biology, Sustainable horticulture, and Diploma seminar. Students can also choose from a range of facultative subjects, such as Ornamental plants in human environment, Fruits of the world, Medicinal and aromatic plants, Applied of plant pathology, Seeds production, and Dendrology.
Graduates of the program are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a range of careers in horticultural production, private agribusiness, horticultural consulting, raw materials and cosmetic laboratories, education, and scientific and research institutions. The program also emphasizes the development of soft skills, such as problem-solving, data analysis, and working in a multidisciplinary team.
