The Drug Discovery and Development (DDD) programme is a two-year, full-time course designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for identifying and introducing new medicines. The programme provides a solid foundation in pharmaceutical sciences, with the opportunity for students to specialize in a particular area of drug discovery and development. In the first semester, students will gain a basic understanding of drug research, including key chemical, biological, and pathophysiological aspects. The second semester provides a well-balanced training in pharmaceutical sciences, which serves as a basis for further specialized skills development. The final two semesters are focused on one of three leading areas: Medicinal Chemistry, Experimental Pharmacology, or Model Based Drug Development.
FACULTY INFORMATION
The Faculty of Pharmacy is the top-ranked faculty of its kind in Poland, offering programs in pharmacy, cosmetology, and medical analytics. It has received an A+ rating from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and consistently ranks highly in rankings prepared by the Education Foundation "Perspektywy". The faculty comprises 16 research and didactic units, including 10 chairs, and boasts a Museum of Pharmacy, a Garden of Medicinal Plants, and an Animal House. Students have access to the resources of both the Medical Library and the Jagiellonian Library.
