Intermedia

The Intermedia program offered by the University of the Arts Poznan is designed to provide students with a unique set of skills that allow them to create and carry out complex visual and audiovisual artistic expressions using modern techniques and technologies. The program is situated between disciplines, encouraging students to broaden their horizons and combine various means of artistic expression. Students are given the opportunity to experiment with traditional and modern means of expression and reflect on new phenomena that emerge.

The Experimental Film specialization path within the Intermedia program is an alternative path that focuses on educating creators to use modern technologies and the specific language of film in a conscious and professional way. The curriculum of the Experimental Film specialization path includes courses related to the theory and practice of experimental film, providing practical skills necessary in this dynamically developing artistic discipline. Students also have the opportunity to experience different film-related professions to determine their own predispositions in a conscious creative process.

The study program for both the Intermedia and Experimental Film paths includes courses that cover contemporary art in its various aspects, history and theory of media arts, and practices of various forms of artistic expression, including photography, film, audiosphere, and performance. Students learn how to create exhibitions and events and participate in various public discussions and artistic undertakings. They work both individually and test their skills and predispositions for teamwork. Students also take part in study and creative trips, open-air workshops, and study visits to observe works of others and establish contacts with distinguished cultural creators.

Graduates of the Intermedia program will be familiar with the essential techniques related to moving image, object, and other activities in the audiovisual art, allowing them to consciously build creative contexts in the social and media space. They will be prepared to take up jobs in a profession related to the profile and the field of their studies or open their path as a free artist.
