The International Relations - Global Studies Bachelor program at Wroclaw University is designed for both Polish and international students who are interested in studying the complex and multidisciplinary field of globalization. The program focuses on the various mechanisms of globalization and the interdependence between local and global events and phenomena. The curriculum of this program is divided into three categories: obligatory courses, specialty courses, and optional courses.
The program consists of a minimum of 2000 teaching hours, which is equivalent to 180 ECTS credits. Students are required to take courses in general studies and courses related to the area of study, as well as courses in their chosen specialty. Additionally, they may select optional courses according to their interests. At the start of each semester, students must choose their optional courses, and they are required to collect 30 ECTS credits from a combination of obligatory courses, optional courses, and workshops in each semester.
Apart from academic courses, there are other mandatory elements of the program, such as learning the Polish language for four semesters, studying a foreign language for one semester, and engaging in physical education at the University's Sport Centre for 60 hours. To complete the program, students must write a Bachelor thesis under the supervision of a professor and defend it or pass the Bachelor exam.
The program also offers opportunities for international student exchange programs and access to all other services and facilities offered to the students of Wroclaw University. The curriculum of the program is multidisciplinary, and it combines diverse theoretical approaches from fields such as economics, international relations, political science, anthropology, sociology, area studies, cultural and ethnic studies, and even some elements of natural sciences such as earth and life sciences or physics.
The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of globalization and its impact on the world. Graduates from this program will be well equipped to pursue a wide range of career opportunities, including roles in international relations, diplomacy, research, non-governmental organizations, and multinational corporations. To apply for this program, students are required to provide a High School graduation certificate or equivalent, a transcript of grades, a certificate confirming access to higher education, a certificate confirming English language proficiency on B2 level, a passport photocopy, and a digital passport size photo.
