Global and Development Studies

The Jagiellonian University offers a full-time, three-year (6 semesters) first-cycle programme in Political Science and Public Administration leading to a Licencjat degree (equivalent to a Bachelor's degree). The language of instruction for this programme is English and the profile is general academic.

While the second-cycle programme is not currently available, the Faculty of International and Political Studies at the Jagiellonian University offers a unique interdisciplinary programme called Global and Development Studies (GLAD). This programme aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the processes of globalization in various areas such as law, politics, economy, history, social relations, culture, and communication. The GLAD programme allows students to specialize in specific global issues and challenges or focus on a selected part of the world.

The Faculty of International and Political Studies is the most international and interdisciplinary unit at the Jagiellonian University, and it offers many courses in English implemented under agreements with foreign universities. The principal seat of the faculty is a modern building with excellent facilities, including four large auditoriums on eight floors, several dozen lecture and seminar rooms, a student zone, and rooms for employees. Additionally, there is a departmental library with a spacious reading room. The faculty has created comfortable conditions for studying near the Jagiellonian Library, surrounded by green areas like Kraków's Błonia and Jordan Park.
