Machine Learning

The Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics at the University of Warsaw offers a second-cycle program in Machine Learning. The program is designed to meet the growing demand for information processing technologies in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. The curriculum is based on established practices in computer science and takes into account current developments in the field.

The program aims to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in machine learning techniques, including statistical methods, deep neural networks, and reinforcement learning. Students are also familiarized with the basic application domains of machine learning, such as visual recognition, autonomous device control, and natural language processing. Graduates of the program are well-prepared to design, oversee, and critically analyze IT projects with significant machine learning components, to serve in expert roles in machine learning, and to be leaders beyond the university world.

Most of the classes are held in the modern computer laboratories of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, located at the Ochota Campus. The admission procedure for Polish diploma holders requires a minimum percentage of points of 45% and a written exam in English, covering topics related to mathematical analysis, linear algebra, foundations of mathematics, discrete mathematics, probability theory and statistics, numerical methods, algorithms and data structures, concurrent programming, and the theory of languages and automata.
