The Master of Science in Nanotechnology program with a specialization in Nanostructures and Computer Simulations in Materials Science is offered by the Faculty of Applied Physics and Mathematics at the Gdansk University of Technology. The program has a duration of 2 years, comprising 8 semesters and is conducted in English.
The program is highly specialized and includes classes that are conducted in the Nanotechnology Center, which has laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment. The main focus of the program is to impart knowledge on the properties and design of novel nanostructured and functional materials that have various applications in fields such as energy conversion and storage, electronics, spintronics, sensors, environmental protection, and biomedicine.
The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of nanotechnology, including both theoretical and practical aspects. The curriculum includes topics such as nanomaterials synthesis and characterization, advanced microscopy and spectroscopy techniques, computational methods, and simulations of materials at the nanoscale.
Students will also learn about the latest developments in the field of nanotechnology and gain hands-on experience through research projects and laboratory work. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in research and development, as well as in the industry.
Career opportunities
You will obtain skills and knowledge in the fields of
· Nanomaterials synthesis
· Measurements and analysis of structural, mechanical, electric and magnetic properties of materials
· Computer-aided materials design and analysis
Additionally, our alumni have strong “soft” skills: they are able to lead, communicate and work in teams. The best graduates will be given the opportunity for PhD studies
