Graduates of this program will be well-equipped to pursue careers in various fields related to cultural communication and tourism, such as working at cultural institutions, publishing houses, media outlets, tourism agencies, airlines, and hotels. Additionally, the program's focus on cultural tourism will prepare graduates to work in the growing tourism industry in Central Europe and the Balkans.
The Bachelor of Arts in Central European and Balkan Studies is a three-year, full-time undergraduate degree program that is taught in English. It is a general academic program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the literary and cultural identity of Europe, with a particular focus on the Balkan Peninsula, Central and Eastern Europe. The program aims to develop the competence and skills of students to effectively communicate in business and cultural tourism settings.
The program is a blend of language and literature studies, and practical skills and know-how necessary for effective communication. It includes modules in Polish language education, Slavistics, and classical philology, as well as complementary competencies in the area of intercultural communication in tourism and business.
Graduates of the program will receive a professional title of licentiate (licencjat) and will have the basic knowledge of the Balkan Peninsula, Central and Eastern Europe literature and linguistics, and literary communication. They will also have elements of professional skills in the field of cultural tourism and business communication. They will be able to pursue a career in European cultural institutions, such as museums, community centers, publishing houses, and theaters, as well as in media (radio, TV), social media, information portals, marketing and advertising, tourism, airlines, and hotels.
The tuition fee for the program is 8,000 PLN.
