The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies offers a comprehensive undergraduate programme in Political Science that prepares students for an exciting career in politics, academia, journalism, and international relations. The programme, which is a first-cycle, full-time study programme, is open to high school graduates who are interested in acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge of political science. The language of instruction is English, which enables the faculty to attract international students from different parts of the world.
The programme comprises both mandatory and elective courses that aim to develop the theoretical and practical skills of the students. The mandatory courses provide students with a solid grounding in the theoretical knowledge of political science issues, while the elective courses enable students to explore their individual interests and deepen their understanding of specific topics. The faculty places particular emphasis on issues related to European integration, as well as Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, which is relevant given the current political climate in the region.
Besides regular courses, the students are encouraged to actively participate in the academic life of the faculty by becoming members of various political science associations, presenting at conferences, and taking part in debates and lectures given by distinguished guests from all over the world. Social events are also an essential part of students' daily lives, which enable them to network, develop interpersonal skills, and foster a sense of community.
