Political Science

The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies offers a Master Graduate Programme in Political Science, which is a two-year, full-time course of study aimed at candidates who hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree from Poland or abroad. The programme provides students with both theoretical and practical knowledge, with a focus on issues related to European integration, Poland, and Eastern Europe.

The courses offered in the programme are designed to equip students with the intellectual qualifications necessary to analyze political science problems and challenges. Additionally, they participate actively in the academic community, taking part in debates and lectures by distinguished guests from all over the world and being members of various political science associations. These opportunities also allow them to develop their communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.

The admission rules for candidates with Polish diplomas require a minimum of 12 points to qualify, based on an oral examination conducted in English. The exam covers topics such as political communication, political culture, theories of democracy and state, non-democratic political regimes, political participation, and the concept of civil society. Candidates with foreign diplomas are subject to the same admissions criteria.

The knowledge and skills gained from the programme enable students to win scholarships and awards in different competitions, such as for the best foreign students in Poland. The classes are held from Monday to Friday, from 8:00-20:00, mainly at the University of Warsaw's Main Campus, Krakowskie Przedmieście St. Social events also play an important role in students' everyday lives, helping them to build a strong sense of community and camaraderie.
