The Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications, which starts in October. This program covers a wide range of subjects related to information technology, control, robotics, electronics, and telecommunications. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in these fields and prepare them for a career in digital telecommunication circuits, digital processing of telecommunication signals, design and operation of telecommunication systems, and the design of telecommunications networks.
During the first two years of the program, students in the Telecommunications specialisation share a common curriculum with students in Computer Science. This curriculum focuses on Information and Communications Technology, which is an essential foundation for Telecommunications. In the final two years, students will focus on topics specific to Telecommunications. These topics include Algorithms & Programming, Circuits & Systems, Computer Systems, Telecommunications, Signal Processing & Coding in Telecommunications, Wireless Systems and Networks, Access and Backbone Systems and Networks, Cryptography and Information Security, Switching and Routing, Communication Protocols, and Satellite Communication Systems.
Graduates of this program are equipped with a broad range of skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the Telecommunications industry. They are able to design digital telecommunication circuits, process telecommunication signals, operate telecommunication systems, and design telecommunications networks. Graduates are also able to solve complex system problems that require a comprehensive understanding of both telecommunications and computer science, as well as a considerable amount of non-engineering knowledge.
