Jagiellonian University has launched an International Security and Development Programme in response to the increasing demand for specialists in the field of global security and development. The two-year Master's programme aims to equip students with the analytical tools, language expertise, and cross-cultural understanding required to tackle complex global problems, such as the war in Syria, the crisis in Ukraine, and the European migrant crisis. The programme will be taught by both international experts and lecturers from the university, with courses conducted in English and a second foreign language.
The International Security and Development Programme offers two academic tracks: international security and crisis management, as well as development and security. The curriculum includes professional traineeships and workshops with experts. The programme is conducted at the Center for International Studies and Development (CISAD), a part of the Faculty of International and Political Studies, which is known for its international and interdisciplinary nature. Students can expect a culturally diverse environment that promotes mutual understanding and development prospects in the field of further studies or professional work.
CISAD is located in the green surroundings of Jordan Park and Błonia Park, providing an ideal space for the development of research and interests in international relations, security, and global development issues. The Center has qualified international and interdisciplinary academic staff, excellent experts, and a rich student community, making it an excellent platform for intellectual dialogue.
The Faculty of International and Political Studies at Jagiellonian University is the most international and interdisciplinary unit in the university. Its courses in English are implemented under agreements with foreign universities, and it allows students to study in a nationally and culturally diverse environment. The faculty has an extensive structure, reflecting the diversity of scientific research carried out there, which allows students to study with a group of specialists dealing with almost every corner of the world.
The International Security and Development Programme was awarded the grant of the Polish National Centre for Research and Development and is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund. The Faculty has also been granted quality certificates of education by the Polish Accreditation Committee and has received an 'A' category from the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific Units (KEJN).
