Product Lifecycle Engineering

The M.Sc. in Product Lifecycle Engineering (PLE) is a 1.5-year program focused on providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to coordinate and supervise the activities involved in a product's lifecycle. This includes design, prototyping and testing, preparation and testing of the production process, production of a pilot series, and the full launch of a product. The course covers technical, environmental, and economic aspects and is applicable to various industries such as cars, household appliances, furniture, personalized medical products, toys, packaging, stationery, and more.

The program is designed for students with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, production management, or similar fields. The course requires a strong foundation in mathematics, product design, materials and production engineering, and the ability to use basic CAD and CAE tools.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to independently carry out the comprehensive implementation of a product in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). They will also be well-equipped to work in research and development, production, marketing, sales, or in a production manager position. The course includes topics connected with Industry 4.0 technologies, such as virtual design systems, the Internet of Things, and product personalization. There is also an emphasis on the relationships between the processes in subsequent phases of a product's life, particularly in the context of sustainable development. Finally, the program includes interactive visits to manufacturing companies.
