The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS-SGGW) offers a comprehensive degree program for students who are passionate about animal health and welfare. This program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become veterinary surgeons who can provide high-quality medical care to animals. The degree program is demanding, requiring students to complete 131 modules over a period of 5.5 years and gain a total of 360 ECTS credits by successfully passing examinations.
The program is offered in English, which makes it accessible to international students who want to study veterinary medicine in Poland. The Faculty is committed to accepting 60 international students each year, providing them with an opportunity to experience Polish culture while obtaining a world-class education in veterinary medicine. The Faculty is approved by EAEVE, which ensures that the program meets European standards and provides quality education to its students.
The Faculty aims to provide its students with a cutting-edge curriculum that keeps pace with the latest industry expectations. It offers a wide range of mandatory and elective modules, including new ones added each academic year to keep up with the advancements in the veterinary field. The Faculty's dedication to expanding its module offerings will enable students to gain a more in-depth understanding of veterinary medicine and obtain a well-rounded education that prepares them for a successful career.
Students who excel academically may have the opportunity to participate in a research project, which will provide them with an additional 15 ECTS credits. This opportunity allows students to gain practical research experience and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for success in the veterinary field.
The Faculty's degree program is rigorous, requiring students to complete approximately 6,200 hours of lectures throughout their studies. However, the program's structure ensures that students receive practical hands-on experience, as well. This experience comes from the mandatory clinical rotations in which students participate in different stages of their studies, providing them with opportunities to gain practical skills, knowledge and competencies in animal medicine.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a Dyplom Lekarza Weterynarii (Diploma of Veterinary Surgeon) that recognizes their proficiency in veterinary medicine. This diploma is a mark of distinction that will enable graduates to pursue diverse career opportunities in the field of veterinary medicine. The diploma is recognized globally and allows graduates to work in a variety of settings, including clinical practice, research institutions, governmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations focused on animal welfare.
