Sustainable energy systems are one of the key issues for humanity. The MSc in Renewable Energy and Energy Management (REEM) addresses all key aspects of sustainable energy systems, focusing on renewable energy technologies as well as energy policy, markets and economics. Students will learn how to plan the development and operation of high-RES energy systems using dedicated 3E (Energy-Economy-Environment) models. A significant part of the teaching is carried out in laboratories, where students conduct experimental research on RES technologies and small scale hybrid RES-based systems. Learning is fostered by collaboration with industry in the so-called Integrated Project of the Year in Sustainable Energy, in which students, together with industrial and academic advisors, work in teams on real-life challenges. In addition, the graduate will gain knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, team management and business planning.
REEM aims to develop future leaders and decision makers in the growing RES-based energy business. Graduates will be prepared to pursue careers in the energy and power industry, public administration, energy consultancies, small and medium-sized enterprises that are rapidly moving to renewable energy sources. They may also find employment in research and academic institutes serving the energy industry.
The Renewable Energy and Energy Management program seems to offer a comprehensive education in the field of renewable energy, with a focus on energy management and sustainability. The program offers several diploma tracks that enable students to gain in-depth knowledge in various areas related to renewable energy, such as heating and cooling systems, biomass systems, solar energy systems, hybrid systems, energy control, intelligent buildings, energy markets, and social aspects of renewable energy and rational energy use.
The program's focus on research and close cooperation with industry ensures that graduates have the skills and knowledge required to take up employment in companies dealing with energy systems, as well as in companies related to energy extraction, processing, transmission, trade, and distribution. Additionally, graduates can solve problems related to renewable energy and energy management in government institutions such as local government units and energy policy organizations.
Overall, the Renewable Energy and Energy Management program seems to be an excellent choice for students interested in pursuing a career in renewable energy and sustainability, with a focus on technical and practical skills.
