AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST) is a technical university located in Kraków, Poland. It was founded in 1919 as the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy, and was originally focused on mining and metallurgy. Since then, the university has expanded to include a wide range of fields, such as computer science, materials science, energy, and environmental engineering.
Throughout its history, AGH UST has played a key role in the development of science and technology in Poland. During World War II, the university was closed by the Nazi occupiers, and many of its professors and students were arrested or killed. After the war, AGH UST was reopened and underwent significant expansion and modernization.
As for the number of foreign students who apply to AGH UST each year, according to the university's website, there are currently over 2,000 international students from over 60 countries enrolled at AGH UST. The university actively promotes internationalization and welcomes students from around the world to its programs.
